Director, Corporate Strategy
The role of the Director of Corporate Strategy will be to partner with executive business leaders on a range of dynamic projects to support the long-term operational and growth strategies of the company. Primary responsibilities will be executing on broadly defined and often unstructured special projects that span all business segments and determine Edwards' business strategies. Additional responsibilities include assessing and analyzing markets, customers, payors and competition to develop insights on trends and leading indicators to advise our strategies, tactics and market models, and form recommendations on strategic opportunities that provide competitive advantage.

**Duties and Responsibilities:**

+ STRATEGY DEVELOPMENT - Will play an instrumental role in developing approach, gaining alignment, and driving the global strategic planning process. Develops business strategies (beyond product) such as market development strategies, go-to-market plans, service models, selling methodologies, alternative approaches to positioning, geographic opportunities, etc.

+ INTERNAL CONSULTING - Executes special projects (akin to management consulting engagements) that are broadly defined and generally lack structure, and determine Edwards' business strategy. Examples may include whitespace analysis, business rationalization assessment, market entry analyses/strategies, buy versus build, etc.

+ SYNTHESIS, REPORTING, and RECOMMENDATIONS - Synthesizes information from multiple sources to generate insights and recommendations on business strategies and opportunities for Edwards. Actively communicates findings, insights, and recommendations on a timely basis and global scale.

+ BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT - Collaborates with Business Development for identification and vetting of strategic partnerships and/or acquisitions.

+ BUSINESS CASE DEVELOPMENT - Builds financial models to assess market opportunities and potential technology investments as a basis for go- no go strategic decisions.

+ SITUATION ANALYSES and MARKET ASSESSMENTS - Develops and maintains situational analyses for Edwards current and potential businesses, markets and customers to support ongoing strategic planning and execution.


**Experience / Education:**

+ A minimum of 10 years' experience in strategy consulting, corporate strategic planning, management consulting and/or marketing required, as well as experience in developing and implementing business plans and strategies.

+ Bachelor's degree required, ideally in a scientific, technical or quantitative field. An MBA from a top business school is preferred.

+ A substantive knowledge of the cardiac medical device industry, health care delivery, and managed care/reimbursement markets and the factors that drive them is required.

+ Deep understanding of clinical data, procedures and treatment options (surgical and interventional), preferably in structural heart or cardiovascular.

+ A thorough understanding of market dynamics and market research methods is also required.

+ Demonstrated verbal and written communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, PowerPoint, Excel, quantitative analysis, strategic frameworks, and live presentations; the ability to lead a cross-functional team.

+ Must be adept at handling multiple assignments and accomplish these projects within budgetary guidelines.

+ Incremental experience in financial analysis, strategic marketing, and international / global markets is beneficial.

+ Experience interfacing with all levels within an organization, including senior executives, in addressing both strategic and business planning challenges.

+ Substantial experience as a manager of people and resources, with demonstrated excellence in presentation and communication, problem solving, and negotiation.
