**Job Summary**

Lead the team that creates end-user documentation for Mac, iCloud, and other exciting Apple products. The Apple Product Documentation (APD) team is the group responsible for developing and delivering instructional materials -- user guides, help systems, tips, quick tours, and more -- for all Apple products. We are looking for a strong, innovative leader with a proven ability to drive cross-functional issues in a fast-paced engineering environment.

**Description**

Manage a team of instructional designers: assign projects, monitor workloads and resources, conduct regular staff meetings, provide ongoing feedback, write and deliver performance reviews, and so on.

Collaborate with other APD managers to coordinate documentation strategies and department-wide initiatives.

Oversee various product lines, ensuring that your team's deliverables are high quality and on time.

Provide leadership and vision to continually explore ground-breaking and effective instructional solutions.

Work closely with product teams -- including marketing, engineering, program management, and localization -- to evaluate documentation and advocate for innovative customer-focused instructional materials.


**Education**

BA or BS in Instructional Technologies, Information Design, Journalism, Communications, Computer Science, User Experience Design, or related field.


**Additional Requirements**

3+ years of experience in information design, product documentation, online publishing, or related field.

Experience and skills in these areas a plus: iOS or Mac OS X development; design methodology; QA; usability testing; program management; knowledge of web-based content-delivery mechanisms and underlying technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
