Cardiac Cath Lab RN
Staff RN for Cardiac Cath Lab at St Joseph Hospital.
Full-time position; 80 hours biweekly. 10-hour Day shift.
On-call required - including some holidays, and weekends required.
Under the broad general direction of the Department Manager and/or Lead Technologist, and in collaboration with the cardiologists, radiologists, and other members of the medical staff, the Registered Nurse employs intellectual, interpersonal and technical skills to provide quality care to patients of various ages utilizing the nursing process. The Cath Lab RN participates in a variety of specialized invasive procedures, including cardiac catheterization, diagnostic angiography, pacemaker revision/implantation, imaging-based interventions and pre & post operative care. Serving as the patient's advocate, the RN assumes responsibility and accountability for nursing care for patients, as defined by the department scope of services statement. The RN participates in quality assurance and organizational improvement activities.
Reads and interprets written materials such as prescriptions, physician's orders, polices and procedures, safety regulations, and equipment operating instructions. Interprets a variety of instructions presented in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule format.
Writes routine reports, notes and memoranda.
Speaks and writes effectively.
Applies basic arithmetic and algebraic concepts such as proportions, percentages and simple equations with a high degree of accuracy. Performs medication dosage calculations accurately.
Solves practical problems and deals effectively with situations where only limited standardization exists.
Concentrates on details in a busy and distracting environment.
